Boat out of Portishead
Mentioned this before but definately doing this now.
Have been reassured by Steve Ace out of Veals that he is a great skipper who knows what he is doing.
Making a booking tonight for myself, Graham and his son in law on Enterprise, skippered by Dave Kirk out of Portishead.
Just spoke to Dave and he has left his diary in the car and wont be back until after 7 tonight. Prehaps not a good omen?
Aiming for 18/10 but if not then 11/10, 08/11 or 22/11. Possibly November trip will be a repeat trip depending upon finances and success.
If you fancy it see this link for contact details, etc.

Booked on Enterprise 18/10/09
Right,
Graham, his son in law and me booked on this one:
Enterprise out of Portishead 18 October, £40 each. Max 8 people. £300 for whole boat so would save £20 between us all. If we can fill it it would be nice but not booking whole boat, people dropping out, then shelling out extra money.
Leaving about 9/9:30.
Cod fishing with normal channel gear, uptiding as not that deep water, lug and squid 4/0 hooks, etc.
Can hire gear for £5.
Graham said he used to drift the channel on a smaller boat as on wrecks so maybe possible? Any ideas anybody? Will ask in Veals.
If you wanna join in phone Skipper Dave Kirk, 07801081402.
Later dates
Pretty booked up for later in year. Portishead lock gates to be shut for a while so going to Penarth until 22nd.
Currently available 6th Dec. Maybe worth booking up? especially if this is a success.

Re: Boat out of Portishead
Heard a few reports from various sources of fish being caught in the channel off boats. Not as many as Chesil but they are defo around!
Lug, rag and squid baits Wayne.
